A flashing temperature display on a Sub-Zero usually means a power interruption or a temperature event occurred. The display often shows the warmest temperature reached. Press a key to acknowledge, check food safety, and monitor the unit. If it keeps flashing or temperatures don't recover, have it checked.
What It Means
After a power loss, or after a compartment warmed significantly, many Sub-Zero controls flash the temperature so you know something happened while you weren't watching.
Common Causes
- Power outage or brownout (common during Las Vegas summer storms)
- Tripped breaker or GFCI
- Unit switched off and back on
- High temperature event
What You Can Do
- Press any key to acknowledge.
- Check food safety. See our food safety guide.
- Monitor for 24 hours.
- If GFCI trips repeatedly, have the circuit and unit checked.
What a Technician Does
If the event repeats without a power outage, we look for the cause of the temperature rise and check electrical connections.
