Sub-Zero wine storage units usually fail because of a failed zone fan, a bad thermistor, a failed zone heater (lower zone too cold), a door or gasket seal issue, a dirty condenser, a control board fault, or a sealed system problem. We repair UW, IW, BW and DE wine units throughout Las Vegas, Henderson and Boulder City.

How Sub-Zero Wine Storage Works
Sub-Zero wine units keep two independently controlled zones. Each zone has its own sensor and airflow. To keep the lower zone warmer than the upper zone, some models use a small zone heater. Temperature stability and humidity are the goal, so the controls keep temperatures in a tight band. Small failures show up as swings that can damage wine.
Wine Cooler Problems We Fix
| Problem | Likely causes | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| Both zones warm | Condenser, condenser fan, compressor, sealed system | Not cooling |
| One zone warm | Zone fan, thermistor, damper, control | Temp swings |
| Lower zone too cold | Zone heater, sensor, control | Temp swings |
| Condensation on the glass | Gasket, door alignment, door heater, humidity | Condensation |
| Alarm or service indicator | Stored fault | Wine alarms |
| Lights or display out | LED, switch, control board | No power |
Protecting Your Collection During a Failure
Wine tolerates a short temperature drift much better than food does. Avoid opening the door, keep the unit closed and call us. If the unit is warming significantly in a hot room, move the most valuable bottles to the coolest interior room of the house (not a garage) until the repair.
